Shell says its Recharge network of Terra 360 chargers will be powered by 100 percent renewable electricity. North Carolina-based Pine Gate Renewables has announced the signing of two separate MoUs with EnerVenue and Urban Electric Power. The solar and energy storage developer will be purchasing 2.4GWh of EnerVenue’s nickel hydrogen BESS and 4.5GWh of Urban Electric’s zinc alkaline battery systems. The deals were signed within days of each other, signalling Pine Gate Renewables’ attempts to look into and invest in lithium-ion alternatives for their battery storage systems.
