A new report from Cornwall Insight and national law firm Weightmans on the co-location of energy assets, entitled “ Co-location, co-location, co-location” , has laid out the significant cost savings of using one grid connection for multiple renewable generation or storage assets. The report outlines how co-location could incentivise the development of battery storage and the expansion of a variety of energy sources including solar and wind power, as well as low-carbon hydrogen production.

The Toyota Hilux hydrogen variant will be manufactured and assembled at Toyota’s Derby-based facility and is scheduled for prototype production in 2023. Toyota chose Ricardo due to its expertise in hydrogen fuel cell integration, including for a UK hydrogen transport hub.

The terms of the agreement will enable SK On to purchase up to 57,000 tons of lithium hydroxide over the course of five years starting in 2023—enough to produce batteries for approximately 1.2 million EVs. Obtaining lithium from SQM will help SK On to align its business with the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
