The winners of the Start Up Energy Transition (SET) Awards 2024 were announced on 20 March in Berlin. An internationally renowned jury had previously nominated 15 start-ups – deemed to possess the most innovative business models for energy transition and climate protection – from over 430 applications. The contest is administed by the German Energy Agency (dena).

Pioneering start-ups were honoured with the award in five different categories: “Clean Energy & Storage”, “Mobility & Transport”, “Industry”, “Buildings & Construction” and “Quality Energy Access & SDG-7”.  The award ceremony was attended by international start-ups, investors and prominent guests from business and politics.

Corinna Enders of dena spoke about the ethos and significance of the award: “The SET Award not only honours outstanding innovations, it is also an important driver of energy transition. By recognizing and supporting promising start-ups, we are sending a strong signal for the urgently needed transformation of our energy system. This award not only encourages the winners, but also inspires the entire industry to develop and promote innovative solutions to build a sustainable future together. Congratulations to all start-ups on their success”.
