Top Cleantech Women to Follow on Twitter

When you think of women in cleantech these days, quite a few come to mind. We’d venture to guess that most of them are on Twitter.

That makes us especially proud that our Women in Cleantech and Sustainability founder, Lisa Ann Pinkerton, made this TechRepublic list of cleantech women leaders to follow on Twitter. With women working in all sectors of the industry — from energy storage in the U.S. to off-grid solar solutions in Africa — there were a lot to pick from.

Lisa Ann, whom you can follow at @lisapinkerton, also heads up her own marketing firm, Technica Communications. She writes for CleanTechnica and was previously an environmental reporter for NPR. As the TechRepublic list notes, she “tweets great updates about weird innovations in sustainability.” With her finger on the pulse and a growing list of followers, she’s definitely someone to check out on Twitter.

Who else made the list? A few highlights:

• Emily Reichert, CEO of Greentown Labs, a community of cleantech entrepreneurs taking on some of today’s biggest environmental challenges.
• Danielle Fong, co-founder and chief scientist of LightSail Energy, a company that makes inexpensive, efficient energy storage systems. 
• Neha Misra, co-founder of Solar Sister, a nonprofit that provides women entrepreneurs in Africa solar lights to sell to their communities. 
• Wendy Koch, senior energy editor at National Geographic. 
• Eden Full, founder and CEO of SunSaluter, a solar panel rotator for use in the developing world.
• Katherine Hamilton, co-founder and principal at 38 North Solutions, a public policy firm focusing on clean energy and innovation.
• Jackie Weidman, founder and executive director of Clean Energy Leadership Institute, a leadership development nonprofit focused on clean energy policy.

These women are all helping to grow the representation of women leading in cleantech — and, of course, tweeting about cleantech. Follow them on Twitter, and be part of the conversation.
