First off, Nissan has the all-new 100% electric Panel Van version e-NV200. It was a Concept in September 2012 but it’s on the streets now! For as we know, electric vehicles are ideal for urban delivery applications.

Also, this vehicle is loved for its use as a delivery van. One that offers a breakthrough. Especially for this type of mobility for entrepreneurs. Thereby featuring efficiency and also green consciousness.

Now, for example, UK sales of Nissan e-NV200 increased as a result by 200%. This for the records was in 2019. Especially as business leaders switch to zero emission deliveries.  In addition, the e-NV200 tops zero-emissions LCV sales. Can you say in 10 European markets? For we are also including UK, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands.

Moreover, the Nissan e-NV200’s environmental credentials and practicality. It’s one that attracts fleet customers. Especially including big customers. Customers for example like DHL, Chronopost. Moreover and let’s not forget private hire businesses.

Commercial Vehicles of the Future

e-NV200

Consequently, Nissan has worked with FedEx Express since December 2011. They have been testing the e-NV200 in real world operations.

Amazingly all to help shape development of the 100% electric compact delivery vehicle. FedEx Express now operates way more than 130 all-electric vehicles worldwide. This is clearly making the company an ideal collaborator. Collaborating for research and development initiatives.

Well what started as a small 130 vehicles is now more than 15.000 vehicles as of 2018! All on the roads since its introduction in Europe in 2014. Because this new generation of 100% electric Nissan e-NV200 is it. I mean it’s embodying the company’s Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision

However now goes another step forward. The longer range provided by it’s bigger battery and a full new series of connectivity features makes the 100% electric e-NV200 a real game changer in the LCV market.

Collaboration for Research and Development with FedEx

Nissan unveiled the all-new 100% electric Panel Van version e-NV200 Concept. They decorated it with Nissan and FedEx graphics and logos. All at the 64th IAA Commercial Vehicle International Motor Show in Hanover.

Because FedEx Express seems committed. All to improving the environmental impact of its global vehicle fleet.

The FedEx Express fleet is also managed through a holistic approach. One to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. So the company has already achieved more than 80% of its goal. One that helped increase the fuel efficiency of its global vehicle fleet 20% by 2020.

Best Practices in Urban Environments

So this collaborative initiative with Nissan will also aid FedEx. Cause with developing best practices for managing its electric vehicle fleet in urban environments.

UK, Japan, Where’s Next?

They did co-testing the e-NV200 prototype in 2011 on the streets of London, UK. The test also expanded to Yokohama, Japan. Therefore to get more real-world driving feedback.

Combining as a result the best elements of two multi-award winning vehicles. The one-two combo. Combining the Nissan LEAF and Nissan NV200. Also past World Cars of the Year. As well International Van of the Year respectively. Wow is e-NV200 ready to change the world. Change the face of light commercial vehicles forever as well.

Now as Nissan reports  UK sales of the fully electric Nissan e-NV200 are exploding. So can you say they have increased by 200%? That’s in 2019 alone. Especially as small business leaders look to increase fleet efficiency. Moreover and reduce costs. All amid changing emissions legislation and the introduction of London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone.

In addition, the surging demand echoes the results of a recent Nissan survey. One showing that 24% of UK small businesses expect van fleets to be fully electric within a decade*.

Also, 1 in 3 UK van fleet operators also say that business efficiency is their main motivation when adopting new technologies. Then followed by cost saving (17%). Because the e-NV200 is perfect for addressing this demand. Again all the while with running costs from 2p per mile, and zero tailpipe emissions. All that ensure the vehicle is exempt from low emission charge zones.

Most noteworthy, this underlining Nissan’s leadership in the EV segment. The e-NV200 combines the advanced powertrain of the 100% electric Nissan LEAF. That’s with all the spaciousness, versatility, and practicality of the base vehicle-the NV200 multi-purpose compact van.

Barcelona ice cream in e-NV 200

Ice Cream and Mackey Collaboration!

Judges at the Energy Awards 2019 were impressed with Nissan and Mackie’s all-electric, zero-emission. For it is a sustainably-powered ‘Sky to Scoop’ ice cream van campaign. The project received both the ‘Energy Efficient Partnership of the Year’. That’s as well as ‘Innovation of the Year: Technology’ awards.

In addition, the ‘Energy Efficient Partnership of the Year’ award recognizes collaborative efforts. Moreover in energy reduction. This was also demonstrated through Nissan’s partnership with Mackie’s. Consequently where renewable energy was used. Used to remove carbon dependence. Now at every stage of the ice cream journey.

The concept van combines a zero-emission drivetrain, second-life battery storage and renewable solar energy generation. Then while the Mackie’s ice cream is produced at its family-owned dairy farm. All by renewable wind and solar energy.

The ‘Innovation of the Year’ award category shines a spotlight. That’s on new innovative ideas across the energy sector. The ‘Sky to Scoop’ campaign demonstrated how Nissan’s Electric Ecosystem could be used. I mean used as a potential ‘last mile’ solution for ice cream vendors looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

Because the on-board ice cream equipment is powered by Nissan Energy ROAM, a portable power pack. One that uses lithium-ion cells recovered or reused. They got these batteries from early first-generation Nissan electric vehicles. This also provides a sustainable second-life for Nissan EV batteries.

Barcelona Please!

Now Upgraded van production in Nissan Barcelona plant to meet record orders. This newer Zero emission van offers more than 60% extra range than before. All without any compromising on cargo capacity. Plus all the while using older Leaf batteries!

Also reported on May 22, 2018, the e-NV200 is made in Barcelona. Yup! Nissan’s upgraded e-NV200 is now being shipped to customers. That’s with demand at record levels for the 100% electric van.

It’s built for global markets in Nissan Barcelona plant. So this upgraded model goes further than ever on a single charge. Can you say all thanks to a new 40kWh battery. Therefore they are combining the features of the award-winning Nissan NV200 van. All while remaining the world’s best-selling all-electric vehicle in history, the Nissan LEAF.

Also, deliveries to customers have now begun. So That’s with more than 4,600 orders taken since sales began in January. This reflects the record demand Nissan is also experiencing for the new Nissan LEAF.

Charging is Easy Breezy

The e-NV200 provides exceptionally smooth acceleration and quietness. That’s driving characteristics unique to electric vehicles. Additionally, the model will be unique also offering quick charging and a creative power outlet. That enables the driver to plug-in any electric device and work anywhere.

Then combined with class-leading cargo volume in a compact body. Heck, that will help the e-NV200 strive to reach its goal to become the industry benchmark. Additionally, the model’s enviable running costs. Nissan knows that’s a priority for many companies. To offer extra energy cost savings compared to fuel cost and lower maintenance costs.

Fast Charging No Problem!

Alternatively, a dedicated CHAdeMO DC 50 kW quick charger is what’s needed. Needed to give that recharge the battery to 80 percent capacity. All in as little as 30 minutes or less. That’s when and if the battery still holds some charge. I’m  meaning that e-NV200 can be charged while it is being loaded. All with goods for another delivery; for example.

Therefore it’s reducing the wasteful loss of energy. Most noteworthy it’s increasing the efficiency of the vehicle’s driveline. Battery charging options include a complete recharge overnight. I mean or up to 80 percent capacity in just 30 minutes. All the while using a Quick Charger.

Conclusion

In conclusion and Don’t forget folks. I mean zero emissions, no tailpipe, and energy-recycling regenerative braking. So the e-NV200 will be particularly well-suited for urban environments. Furthermore, regenerative braking is so amazing. For it has the total advantage. One also for reclaiming energy in the start and stop of city traffic.

In conclusion, Nissan aims to be the leader in zero emissions vehicles. In addition to carrying out the deploying fleets of electric vehicles. As well and more important promote sustainable mobility.
