Learn how to build your own composter

Explore a new way of composting and help build a Johnson-Su compost bioreactor at these free Hands-On Compost Workshops.

Marty Kraft will lead workshops two workshops this weekend from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, June 12 at The Light Center, 1542 Woodson Road, Baldwin City, KS and from 12 – 4 p.m., Sunday, June 13 at the Antioch Urban Growers, 2727 NE 44th St., Kansas City, MO.

This compost system provides a maximum environment for microbes to grow and create rich compost soil that increases soil fertility and helps sequester carbon.

Participants are asked to bring a bag of chopped up leaves or yard waste that is chemical free, and they are encouraged to dress to get dirty. For more information, contact Marty Kraft at [email protected] or Robin Goff at [email protected].
