Survey aims to advance window recycling participation

Windows - Rehau

Polymer specialist Rehau is hoping to raise awareness of the possibility of window recycling with homeowners, and has commissioned an industry survey to assist with that effort, to tie in with National Recycling Week (20-26 September). Window installers are being asked to participate.

The firm hopes to shift behaviour and inspire consumers to request recycled profiles.

Martin Hitchin, CEO of REHAU UK said it was his company’s mission “to ensure all windows are recycled when being replaced by a REHAU installer, and all new windows eventually manufactured with a form of recycled polymer”.

“In order to do this, we need collaboration throughout the supply chain – installers are at the coal face of consumer behaviour, and therefore their insight is imperative to start us on this journey.”

Earlier this year the firm announced a £10 million investment into a state-of-the-art recycling facility in the North of England and announced targets to support its vision.

“In taking part in this survey, installers will be helping us to make incremental steps further towards our organisation’s highly ambitious sustainability targets, as well as our commitment to the circular economy and a ‘planet before profit’ mantra.”

Those who take part in the survey will automatically be placed in a draw to win a £100 Amazon Voucher.
