Call for applicants to the Plastics Data Challenge

The Incubation Network by The Circulate Initiative and SecondMuse is calling for applications for the Plastics Data Challenge — a global innovation challenge that will source, support, and scale innovative technologies that address the leakage of plastic waste into the environment.

Through this challenge, academic institutions, startups, entrepreneurs, companies, and data scientists worldwide are invited to submit their innovative solutions that address the lack of data across Asia’s plastics value chains and be a pioneer in the region’s emerging WasteTech sector.

Up to 10 semi-finalists will be invited to a one-week innovation summit in Singapore and receive mentorship through a six-week pilot-readiness programme.

From this cohort, 3 finalists will be selected to receive a cash prize of up to US$10,000 in addition to the opportunity of implementing a pilot in South and Southeast Asia with the support of The Incubation Network and its partners.

Semifinalists will be selected by and receive support from the program’s Advisory Council which includes representatives from: The World Bank, SAP, Unilever, Microsoft, Accenture, GEO Blue Planet Initiative, McKinsey.org, Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the Ocean Conservancy, among others.

Applications close on 13 March 2020.
