Top-secret government facility orders third EV ARC solar charger

San Diego-based Envision Solar, which manufactures solar-powered EV chargers, has received a third order for its EV ARC product from a US government facility.

The facility will use the EV ARC to charge fleet vehicles and provide an emergency source of electricity. This is the third order Envision has received from this facility, but it is not permitted to disclose any other details about the order or delivery location.

The EV ARC and EV ARC HP chargers fit inside a single parking space. The EV ARC generates enough solar electricity to power up to 225 miles of EV driving in a day and the EV ARC HP fast charger provides up to 1,100 miles per day.

The charger stores energy in an on-board storage system and can provide emergency power during grid failure. The EV ARC provides Level 1, Level 2, and DC fast charging. Because it requires no trenching, foundations or installation work of any kind, users can deploy the system in minutes and easily move it to a new location.

“Top secret facilities run mission-critical fleets,” said Envision Solar CEO Desmond Wheatley. “The US government considers Envision’s products to be a go-to choice to charge their fleets on a day-to-day basis and particularly when the utility power grid fails due to weather or some other unforeseen circumstance. Our products are operating in some of the harshest environments imaginable and our strategy of creating products which will keep critical fleets running when all other options fail is paying off for us.”
