Coming Soon: Solar Grants!

Our solar grant funding opportunity is coming soon. Solar Grants provide competitive funding to install solar at existing public buildings and facilities, such as schools, hospitals, civic buildings, and wastewater treatment plants. Solar Grants cut energy costs, reduce pollution, and showcase solar in communities across the state. In 2021, $3.4 million will be available.

Look for an announcement of the request for applications (RFA) by the end of June. Applications will be accepted for approximately 8 weeks after the RFA is published, and awards will be announced in late fall 2021. Applicants are encouraged to begin planning projects now, including designing systems and identifying match funding.

Please find more information about eligibility and preferred projects on the Solar Grants website.

New Name!

Energy Retrofits for Public Buildings is the new name for the dedicated team managing Energy Efficiency, Solar and State Project Improvement grants, which have been renewed for the 21-23 biennium.  The name reflects a continued focus on supporting efforts of towns, cities, Tribes, and public agencies working to reduce energy consumption and operational costs through upgrades at community buildings. Through these projects, public agencies are leading by example at the local level and for their own communities.
