In line with promoting best practice across the construction industry the BPF Pipes Group says it has launched a series of informative lunchtime webinars, starting with ‘Making Connections to Polyethylene (PE) Water Pipes’ on 16 June.

Derek Muckle, who chairs the BPF Pipes Group’s Pressure Pipes and Jointing Group and is a past President of the Pipes Group, will present the first webinar at 12.00 noon. It will cover making connections to PE water mains with predictable asset lifetimes, no leaks or service interruptions and minimal disruption to traffic flows. Connections for new developments will be covered as well as bypass loops, hydrant retrofits and air valves. Registration is free at https://bit.ly/340lKDy.

Other webinars in the series include ‘Air Admittance Valves – An Introduction’ on 13 July, ‘The Right Choice – the Role of EPDs in the Selection of Pipes’ on 2 September, ‘The Role Plastic Pipes Will Play in the Delivery of Net Zero’ on 20 October and ‘Designing Drains and Sewers’ on 24 November.

Caroline Ayres, Director of the BPF Pipes Group, said that the popularity of webinars increased significantly during lockdown, and looks set to continue as flexible working becomes the norm. “These bite-sized webinars are aimed at improving knowledge and promoting best practice on a range of applications in the utilities and construction industry and we are delighted to be launching this new series.”
