Singapore Post (SingPost) has appointed Michelle Lee from Lendlease as head of sustainability.
Lee joins the postal service after more than 20 years with the Australian multinational construction and property firm, where latterly she was sustainability director for the company’s Singapore operations.
She will take over the group sustainability portfolio from Robin Goh, group chief brand and communications officer, and be responsible for all aspects of SingPost’s sustainability roadmap and efforts across group, including its subsidiaries, both local and overseas.

In SingPost’s latest sustainability report, the organisation reported considerable operational challenges as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, but managed a 3 per cent reduction in operational greenhouse gas emissions, a 30 per cent increase in energy savings from installing energy-efficient lightbulbs, and a 42 per cent increase in electronic waste collected from its e-waste management programme.
Lee joins soon after an amendment to the Postal Services Act, which will see a nationwide network of parcel lockers rolled out across the country. Though the volume of letters being sent through the post is decreasing, parcel deliveries have grown as a result of the booming e-commerce sector, which has been growing at a double-digit rate since 2017.
