Tesla’s Cybertruck Will Debut At The Petersen Auto Museum This Weekend
The Tesla Cybertruck will debut at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles this weekend, according to Robb Report. My dream truck will be on display from June 20 through June 26. The Petersen Automotive Museum is known for showing some of the world’s most talked-about vehicles, vehicles that have made history.

The museum has been closed due to the coronavirus lockdown and will be reopening today, June 19. As a way to celebrate and bring in the crowds, the Cybertruck will be the star. This will be the first time since the reveal that the Cybertruck will be on public display for all to see. Otherwise, it’s basically just been spotted here or there (with Elon in it) or on Jay Leno’s Garage.
This event is just a continuation of a partnership the museum has with Tesla. Petersen also has the Tesla Model S prototype and the Roadster on display in the Alternating Currents exhibition.
Petersen’s executive director, Terry Karges said, “Tesla has been a trailblazer in the widespread acceptance of electric vehicles since introducing the Model S prototype. The Cybertruck paves the way for the utility vehicle of the future, and we can’t wait to display it proudly in our lobby, as we reopen to the public.”
If you plan to visit, be sure to bring your protective face coverings and remember to practice social distancing. The museum will also be providing single-use face masks for those who don’t have one. I think this is a fun way to get people talking about EVs and will inspire creativity. Naturally, Tesla will also get more positive marketing (that it doesn’t have to pay for).
The Cybertruck is pretty cool, and having it in a museum setting helps make electric vehicles a focal part of conversations for those who may have only seen or heard about them in the news or on the street. The fact that this is not just an addition to the museum but a temporary debut only adds more to the allure of the vehicle and will most likely bode well for the museum, too. I wonder if Franz is going and if he plans to test the glass again there. That would be fun.
