This week, the Biden campaign released a $2 trillion clean energy and infrastructure plan, Virginia became the first southern state to join RGGI, and the US clean energy sector reported an additional 212,800 jobs in the month of June.

Virginia becomes first southern state to join RGGI
The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative is a cooperative effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector, wherein member states agree to a cap on CO2 emissions.
Tool showcases renewables deals made by US cities since 2015
The Local Government Renewables Action Tracker catalogues renewable energy deals made by US cities, counties, tribal governments, and municipal utilities over the past five years. In addition to showcasing over 300 deals to-date, the tool highlights resources and helps facilitate collaboration between local governments.

Biden campaign unveils clean energy and infrastructure plan
The proposal calls for a carbon-free power sector by 2035, with net-zero emissions throughout the economy by 2050, commits to generating millions of jobs, and would invest $2 trillion over four years in clean infrastructure. In particular, Biden focuses on the auto industry, transit, buildings, the power sector, housing, innovation, agriculture, conservation and prioritizing environmental justice. In a win for storage, Federal Court upholds FERC Order 841
The court decision removes barriers to market access for energy storage, clearing the way for transmission grid operators nationwide to open their markets to storage, and providing a level playing field for storage to compete in wholesale markets.
