PORTLAND, OR and SEATTLE, WA – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced that VertueLab and its strategic partners are one of 10 incubators and accelerators nationwide receiving grants totaling $9.5M as part of their Energy Program Innovation Clusters (EPIC) initiative in an effort to strengthen the clean energy innovation ecosystem across the United States.

VertueLab, a nonprofit operating in Oregon and Washington, has formed a strategic partnership coalition called the Northwest Cleantech Innovation Network (NWCIN) with key organizations: CleanTech Alliance in Seattle, Washington; Washington Clean Energy Testbeds at the University of Washington in Seattle; and Joint Center for Deployment and Research in Earth Abundant Materials (JCDREAM) in Everett, Washington. The objective of the coalition is to create a comprehensive regional entrepreneurial support system to increase and accelerate the development, success rate, and commercialization of early-stage clean energy hardware startups in the Northwest.
